This covers some of the life lessons and a glimpse of the things Bobby had to go through as he was growing up.
For the most part, the Island was beautiful, peaceful and insightful of understanding social norms, animals and nature.
These experiences are highlighted in this story because those were situations where Bobby learnt from failure or hardship.
They were the things that kept his gears moving. Today, the Island is seen as a place for relaxation, tourism and peace.
But the days that taught deep values were not so far in the past or still exists in different forms.
He disliked being in such problems, now he sees that it was an essential part, to evolve. He's grateful for everything.
Equipped with survival and social skills; Bobby was flown to the UK (London) where he was born.
9 years were spent on the Island till the age of 18.
There he pursued further education and grew his virtual community. It was overwhelming at first.
He also got to explore the Internet in a resource-rich manner. Being connected with the World from that position was nothing like what was offered from the island. New servers, diverse cultures, societies, huge populations of people.
He'd never forget those days. It was simply amazing to see such a huge intricate network function.
The things that were learnt from the Island felt useless and insignificant compared to all this. He was wrong...
What he learnt was a fundamental understanding. That became the very core of who he is. Raised, taught and learnt that way.
Always questioning things, curious, wondering, solving things... No one really needed to tell him to understand something,
just put him in that environment and he'd be fine. Self-motivated and determined.
Millions of people were online in Europe, it seemed like his LAN party on steroids. Every new friend was a joyful encounter.
Bobby quickly grew some fame of his own and was his little happy zone. This multicultural ecosystem was fascinating.
It became very challenging to balance studies along with this virtual life but it was successful. His virtual gaming life had some growth in income which helped fund his education and other side projects. It truly felt awesome! Money was decent, education was secured, fame projected him.
Since the virtual life was doing well, the only thing left was to counter-weigh that by uplifting his real life. So he spent more time into his studies.
As a Gamer, Bobby grew his fame by being one of the top 3 pilots of his aircraft type but not officially. His close friends at the time had already claimed the spot in being the best. It's a friendship respect to not go for that. Simply playing for fun was all Bobby loved and always enjoyed a good duel with them anytime. The same sportsmanship from badminton.
This aircraft game turned Bobby into some kind of a Warlord. Being a threat to anyone in their sights made him a top priority target to use everything they've got. It was very competitive so a lot of bad behaviour was common among players.
Having to manage extremely nasty social interactions had influenced him in a negative way. That influence was also magnified through his actions, onto his fans. It was tough to try and influence the community in a positive way afterwards. They were just too used to it or wouldn't stop repeating the joke or incident. So he became self-conscious and cautious of his behaviour.
The gaming community itself was quite a toxic place to be, some go to the extreme. It's been like this forever and got used to it.
There was no reasoning with those people, they just shove hatred down people's throat and everyone should accept it or they will do more harm. Bobby was caught in an ugly situation and was being righteous, kind, truthful and protective for those who were clearly bullied yet for some reason, he ended up being hated the most and had a lot of accusations or conspiracies tied to him. Never has something like this been handled before, but he did his best and was always humble.
It was crazy, telling the truth to ignorant liars was like whispering among megaphones. Bobby failed and was destroyed.
With the truth not able to succeed, the sorrow was too great so he had to run from it all for the time being and focus on studies.
But something dreadful, absolutely unthinkable happened...
